A good friend of mines posted this on my Facebook page on the link for our new T-Shirt “SKMZ long journey”.
He wrote “them shits look good. congrats.. i would get some myself if it didnt say SKMZ, hope you sell out fast bro”
All i can think to myself is “WOW!!!!!!”. This way of thinking is in major part what seems to have gone wrong in our scene. it’s about to be 2011 yet people still won’t support their own peers.
Here we have created a super fresh product & design by one of the most significant Graff writers of this generation who also happens to be a BBOY and a member of SKILLMETHODZ. yet because the T-Shirt says “SKMZ” he will not support.
people like that buy brands like adidas, puma, nike, etc. wear jerseys with their favorite athletes name on the back & support corporate entities which do not care or do anything for our culture.
The way of thinking in our scene needs a drastic change. put down you egos & realize the bigger picture. a lot of us in the scene are trying to create our own brands designed by our won people, we are trying to make a change in our scene. we are becoming part of the solution instead of being part of the problem. if we do not support one another we will truly cease to elevate.

Yo Tek, it’s a fresh shirt for sure, and I’m thinking of grabbing one (depending on $$$ for shipping to Canada). I know you think he/she’s not supporting your crew, but would you rock a Flow Mo, Top 9 or Gamblers shirt? Just curious.

crazy story! I just recently bought cloth for like 300 dollar at circlekingz from bboyspot, flowmo and circlekingz itself. I just think that way I support the community, support heads who are doing that stuff from their hearts. I rather support them then buying the newest adidas jacket or whatever. The guy at the merchandise booth is there representing his designs, way sicker than going into a big store buying from a random employee. And like that I just realized, damn, I gotta buy one of those shirts! Gotta support! Hope they are not sold out yet. So be prepaired to ship a shirt to switzerland!

that’s true, but it doesn’t make sense if you from a different crew. adidias, nike, fila, they all brands, but skmz is a crew that rep their own shit. why would you rep your crew and another crew you’re not part of.
